Piper Hunt is the youngest in the family of three Kelley children. Although she doesn't feel blessed with a green thumb like the rest of her family, she loves being a part of the business. She claims that being surrounded by experts has helped to quickly learn horticulture.
A.W. Kelley, Piper's Father named one of his prized hybridized hibiscuses after his daughter. She was so proud when "The Piper" was awarded a blue ribbon by the James E. Hendry Hibiscus Show in the early 90's.
Prior to starting with the family business in 2005 Piper was a commercial lines-insurance agent for 30 years. Although born in Fort Myers she and her husband Michael lived "out in the country" in a charming little rural town outside Gainesville, FL, from 1977 to 1988. Currently Piper lives with her husband on wooded acreage with a lovely home in North Fort Myers.
Piper is our head cashier in customer service. She is totally multi-tasked with tons of experience having been in the insurance, service industry all those years! We kiddingly accuse her of frying her computer last year by typing too fast, processing gobs of plant orders, printing receipts and all while on the phone with clients. So when you talk to her by phone and assume she's sitting idle, think again!
Many of our clients love Piper's witty humor, speed in getting them in and out and eagerness to find answers to all their questions. Staff would agree we are all fortunate to have such a "firecracker" heading up the front office. |
